Winter Orange Rosemary Cocktail

This year, I’m cooking and entertaining at many different holiday festivities. And after discovering Choose Cartons and the benefits of buying cartons, it’s important to me to use products packaged in cartons in my recipes when I can. Let me tell you why.

In the past, when I went to the grocery store, I used to buy for deals and deals only. I wanted to save money and didn’t consider the effect my purchase and its packaging may have on the environment.

I believe that I’m environmentally conscious — recycling, carpooling and educating myself on environmental issues. However, in working with Choose Cartons, I also learned how important a product’s packaging is — not only to the environment, but also in preserving nutrients and taste.

    Did you know?

  • Cartons are recyclable for over 68 million U.S. households.*
  • More than 70% of a carton is paper made from trees — a renewable resource.
  • And this paper is made using more than 50% bioenergy — a renewable energy — helping preserve resources for future generations.
  • Products packaged in cartons are (on average) 94% product and only 6% packaging — reducing unnecessary packaging.
  • Cartons help keep contents fresh.

*Recyclable only where facilities exist. Visit to see if you can recycle in your area.

These are more than enough reasons for me to buy cartons when I can. So this holiday season, I wanted to create a holiday cocktail that is delicious and made with products that are in cartons.

This Winter Orange Rosemary Cocktail is made with orange juice and cranberry juice from cartons! In any season, my favorite juice is orange juice, and I wanted to find a way to use my favorite juice in the winter. So, I added a Honey Rosemary Simple Syrup to help sweeten the cocktail and give it just the right amount of warm, winter flavors.

Mix up a couple cocktails for a cozy night by the fire, or make a whole pitcher for a fun cocktail at your next holiday party.
