Spiced Apple Orange Cider

Holiday parties are in full swing! We are baking holiday cookies, making casseroles and sipping apple cider while listening to our favorite holiday music.

I love the buzz of the holiday season as people start planning their holiday menus, and everyone has their own special twist on holiday appetizers and drinks. Last year, I made a Winter Orange Rosemary Cocktail that is the perfect winter cocktail. This year, I’m excited to share one of my favorite holiday drinks – Spiced Apple Orange Cider made with orange juice.

This holiday season, I am doing a lot of entertaining, and I plan to buy many of my favorite products in a carton. Its contents not only taste great, but did you also know that a carton also helps preserve taste, vitamins, and other nutrients? And with as many meals, appetizers and drinks I plan to make, buying cartons certainly makes storage easy and recycling even easier!

This Spiced Apple Orange Cider is an easy recipe to serve to the masses, and there is always an option to add spiced rum for the adults. Not only is it delicious, but the moment your guests enter your home, they will be met by the sweet holiday aroma of cinnamon sticks, apple and rosemary.

So, run to your nearest grocery store to make a batch of this Spiced Apple Orange Cider. You won’t regret it!

Spiced Apple Orange Cider
Serves 4

Ingredients
2.5 cups apple juice
2.5 cups orange juice
1 large orange, sliced
1 large apple, sliced
5 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
7 sprigs rosemary or thyme
½ teaspoon grated ginger, fresh

Instructions
1. Place all ingredients into a large pot. Heat over medium/high and bring to a boil.
2. Turn heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
3. Serve with cinnamon sticks, fruit slices and rosemary for garnish.
